eXIT CLEANING GUIDE

INSIDE YOUR RENTAL

    • Air-conditioning unit: Wipe outside of air conditioning units and clean filters.
    • Cupboards & drawers: Empty and wipe them clean.
    • Fans: Dust fans and wipe down.
    • Floor Coverings:
    • Tiles and Timber floors - sweep/vacuum and then mop.
    • Carpets should be professionally cleaned.
  • Flyscreen's: Remove, wash and put back.
  • Ledges: Wipe clean all ledges, including sliding door tracks, skirting boards, tops of doors and windows.
  • Lights: Clean all your light switches and lights. Replace any non-working bulbs.
  • Walls and Doors: Wipe down all walls. Scrub any marks, and fix dents or holes. Repaint if necessary. Remove any cobwebs from the corners of rooms.
  • Windows:
    • Clean all windows inside and where able outside.
    • Window/sliding doors sills cleaned.
    • Window tracks clean and free from dust and bugs.
  • Window Coverings:
    • Venetian blinds cleaned.
    • Curtains cleaned (do not wash without prior approval)

Don’t forget: If the owner provided any appliance or furniture, it should be cleaned and left in the condition you found it.

BATHROOM & LAUNDRY

  • Basin: Clean your basin and drain, wipe down your benchtops, any wall tiles and taps.
  • Mirrors: Clean down all mirrors and remove any wipe marks.
  • Shower: Clean the shower glass, the taps and the showerhead. Remove any mould from the grout, mop the floor and allow the area to dry thoroughly. Wash the shower curtain.
  • Toilet: Scrub and disinfect around the outside of the bowl and under the seat.
  • Exhaust Fan and Light Fittings: Cleaned.

Don’t forget: Clean floors and wipe down any soap holders, towel rails, toilet paper holder, ceiling fan, and exhaust!

KITCHEN

  • Benches: Wipe down all surface areas and walls.
  • Cooking areas: Clean your oven, the racks and the stovetop. Remove any wipe marks.
  • Cupboards: Empty all cupboards and wipe them down.
  • Dishwasher: Clean inside your dishwasher and racks. Remove any food from the filter and rinse it out.
  • Exhaust: Clean any oil marks, wash the filters and ensure the light is working.
  • Extractor fan: Remove any dust and oil.
  • Fridge: Pull out the refrigerator and clean behind and underneath.
  • Sinks: Remove any food from the drain and clean down the taps.
  • Oven: Oven (including trays and racks) and cooktop cleaned

OUTDOOR AREAS

  • External areas returned to the same condition as the beginning of the lease.
  • Driveway: Remove any oil stains on your driveway.
  • Garage: Empty the garage space, clean any oil marks, dirt, remove cobwebs, and clean down the door.
  • Patios: Clean and hose down any patio areas, remove cobwebs. Don’t forget to clean any appliances.
  • Pets: Clean up any animal mess and repair any damage.
  • Pools & spas: Clean debris from the water and filter. Check for any special conditions in your tenancy agreement.
  • Rubbish bins: If applicable, empty, wash and dry.
  • Windows: Clear away cobwebs, wash and dry.
  • Garden/ Yard: Mow your lawn, weed the garden, trim any overhanging trees and sweep the pavement.
  • Keys and Instruction Manuals: Keys and remotes for all locks returned and Instruction guides remain at the property
